In the UK this EU Directive was put in place via the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR)- these requirements apply to most workplaces where a potentially explosive atmosphere may occur.
Directive 2014/34/EU (also known as ATEX 114 or The ATEX Equipment Directive) deals concerns equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
