Three Stages of Powder Coating

Powder coating booths and guns only make up the application stage of a manual powder coating line, with pre-treatment cleaning and heat curing stages playing critical roles in achieving a flawless and adhered finish.

In the pre-treatment stage to clean the components of dust, oils and debris, a clean finish can be achieved with various cleaning machine methods from multistage ultrasonic cycles to spray washers. As long as the components are clean and dry, the component is ready for application.

To treat the powder coating layer so it becomes the strong, durable layer powder coating is known for, it needs to be cured in an industrial curing oven, resulting in the powder melting and becoming one solid bonded film.
