Description

Model Range ZA Automatic Peeling Centrifuge

After vibratory finishing the effluent (dirty process water) contains abrasive and metal fines, frequently also oil and metals. For this reason, the effluent must be cleaned before going to drain or being recycled back to the finishing process.

ZA 06 Centrifugal Filters

Abrasive and metal fines as well as trapped oil are separated from the process water by way of centrifugal force and can be removed as semi dry mud. The cleaned process water can be re-used and is pumped back to the finishing machine.

The recycling of the process water from the finishing process not only reduces the consumption of water (up to 98 %), but it also reduces the usage of compound (up to 90 %) and the cost of waste disposal.

Automatic peeling centrifuge ZA

The PLC controlled, automatic centrifuges ZA 06 can clean up to 2000 litres of mass finishing process water per hour. The mud deposited on the wall of the rotating drum is automatically removed with a “peeling” knife and dropped into a mud container according to pre-set time intervals.

Due to the modular construction of the ZA model range, an optimum machine configuration is possible, which can be adapted to various customer-specific requirements. These are among others the selection of various sizes of waste water and process water tanks, cooling systems, additional process water pumps, dosing systems etc.

Cleaning by centrifugal force

With the centrifugal filter technology solid fines are removed from the process water with a centrifugal force which is up to 2,417 times higher than the gravity of the earth. Oil and / or extremely fine solids < 1 µm can be removed by adding flocculants. The compound utilised for the finishing operation remains largely in the process water for re-use in the finishing process.

Process water treatment system

Accompanying the machine is a water management system, taking waste water into a storage tank which is then fed to the centrifuge for processing.

Once completed, the processed water is returned to an adjacent storage tank where is it transferred to drain or reuse.

Both tanks have level control, solution agitation and Air Diaphragm transfer pumps and is controlled for the central control panel, providing a complete waste water treatment system

Limits of application

Centrifuges cannot be used universally. They are not suited for the following mass finishing applications:

• Chemically accelerated and paste processes

• All standard mass finishing processes

• Multi-stage processes with different compounds

• Pickling processes with acid

• Ball burnishing applications
