Description
The Transtherm TBCE 150 is a high-capacity industrial air blast box cooler typically used for heavy-duty process and data centre cooling. Manufactured by Transtherm Cooling, the unit operates on a 415/3/50 power supply with dimensions of 2500 × 1310 × 1895 mm and connection sizes of 2 inches.
- The cooling capacity of a Transtherm TBCE 150 air blast cooler does not have a single fixed kilowatt rating because it is entirely dependent on your application's operating temperatures.
- As a variable-capacity industrial dry cooler, its true thermal performance is calculated using your specific fluid temperatures and the local outdoor air conditions. However, under typical standard UK industrial design criteria, the unit performs within the following parameters:
Capacity ranges and design metrics
Nominal performance
- Nominal water inlet temperature:43°C.
- Nominal water outlet temperature: 30°C.
- Standard baseline condition: This nominal range is typically achieved when cooling a water/glycol mixture down to around 35°C to 40°Cin a standard UK 30°C summer ambient environment.
- Design pump pressure 3 Bar.
- Flow rate 1.85 L / Sec (111 L/Min)
- Nominal duty 150kW.
The variables that dictate exact kW capacity
- ITD (Approach temperature): The difference between the temperature of the fluid entering the cooler and the temperature of the outdoor air entering the unit's fins. A wider gap drastically increases the kW capacity.
- Fluid flow rate: The volume of liquid pumped through the 2-inch connections per second.
- Fluid medium: The percentage of glycol mixed into the water loop for antifreeze protection. Higher glycol concentrations slightly reduce the fluid's heat transfer efficiency compared to pure water.
- Fan speed: The volume of air pulled across the copper/aluminium matrix by the axial fans.
