Description

The SNOL Electric Vertical Forced Circulation Furnace is a 650 °C top-loading furnace, designed for the hardening, normalising, and annealing of both shafts and general components.

This furnace is also suitable for metal component carbonisation (cementation) and tempering and hardening processes in oxidation and reduction environments.

Workpieces can be suspended from jigs or placed in a single charge basket. The furnace configuration enables direct loading of components from above using a hoisting unit, allowing heavy individual parts to be handled with ease.

With this vertical loading arrangement, thinner parts are less prone to distortion when quenching is required as a secondary operation. The furnace is simple to maintain yet exceptionally robust, having proven itself reliable in even the most arduous heat-treatment environments.

The furnace is constructed with a profiled metal case and an internal chamber of Stainless Steel. Its heating system consists of nickel–chromium tubular elements mounted on robust supporting brackets. A motor-driven centrifugal fan mounted on the underside of the furnace forces air through the heating elements and down through the charge, ensuring efficient and uniform heat transfer.

Key Features and Applications

  • Omron E5CC-T Digital microprocessor temperature control
  • Digital over-temperature control
  • Integrated door safety cut-out switch
  • Chamber material – Stainless steel AISI 304
  • Swing-aside door with easy-lift lid mechanism
  • Manual furnace lid opening
  • Vertical orientation
  • Forced air circulation - ventilation motor on the bottom, vertical airflow
  • Capability for oxidising or non-oxidising controlled atmospheres
  • Solid State Relay (SSR) Power Control
  • Excellent temperature uniformity
  • Space efficiency: vertical design saves valuable floor space, particularly in cleanroom environments
  • Heating from 2 sides with tubular (U-shaped) heating elements
  • Capacity - 8 Litre

Temperature Range

The furnace can operate across a broad range of temperatures up to 650 °C.

Used for a wide range of thermal processes, including:

  • Tempering
  • Annealing
  • Normalizing
  • Drying
  • Curing
  • Artificial aging
