Description

This second hand Tilghman extraction unit with 4.0kW / 5.3 Hp motor is an extremely versatile fine dust filter, capable of handling numerous dust types over a wide range of applications. Reverse pulse jet cleaning system, inlet deflector and large dust collection bucket.

Air Filtering Operation

The contaminated airstream is drawn into the dust collector where its velocity is reduced by inlet baffle plates to provide even air distribution across the entire surface area of the cartridge filters. This design enhances filtration efficiency by establishing a uniform “dust cake” on the filters.

The airstream is then directed around the cartridge filters and down toward the hopper where the heavier particles discharge to the dust storage drum. The contaminated air then passes through the cartridge filters. The filter media strips the dust from the airstream allowing only clean air to pass through the cartridge filter. The air then passes into the clean air plenum, through a blower package and is discharged from the unit at the top.

Filter Cleaning Cycle

During normal operation, the surface of the cartridge filters become loaded with contaminants. The reverse pulse cleaning mechanism provides brief bursts of compressed air, directed through the diaphragm valves, toward an air distribution tip and into the centre of the cartridge filter. This pulsing action dislodges the collected particles from the media where they fall into the hopper and are discharged to the dust storage drum.

What is Dry Dust Extraction?

The most popular dust extraction method, dry dust extractors collect dust using filters and cartridges. Known for processing large volumes of air when filtering medium/large dust particles such as wood, flour, and metals.

They typically include a cleaning system to discharge the dust gathered within the filters and cartridges, they carry out a shaker cycle or reverse pulse cycle to free the collected dust and empty it into a removable storage bin.

What are Cartridge Dust Collectors?

Cartridge Dust Collectors a type of filter unit which is predominantly used in environments where space is at a premium. They can often maintain airflows which remain comparable to larger baghouse units.

Cartridge units provide larger fabric filter areas into a smaller place, use less filters and can be changed from the outside of the extractor, rather than having to access the unit internally, thus reducing filter replacement times and less environmental contamination issues for maintenance staff.

They are ideal for commercial and industrial environments, whose processes produce very fine-to- moderate dust-like powders, metalworking, woodworking, fume collection, thermal spraying, among other processes.
