Description

The Titan 4 offers state of-the-art cleaning power for fume and dust collection. Designed to collect laser fumes and dust within the cartridge filter. Controlled pulse jet cleaning system ensured the extractor is working to its optimum performance.

Description & Operation

Contaminants are captured at the source(s), then conveyed through ductwork to the cartridge filter section (dirty air section) where the fumes and dust are collected. Clean air is then discharged from the unit through the clean air discharge.

The dust collector is designed for on-line or downtime cartridge filter cleaning by means of a customer supplied compressed air system. The Titan 4 is high-efficiency, horizontally oriented cartridge dust collector. 

Air Filtering Operation

The contaminated airstream is drawn into the dust collector where its velocity is reduced by inlet baffle plates to provide even air distribution across the entire surface area of the cartridge filters. This design enhances filtration efficiency by establishing a uniform “dust cake” on the filters.

The airstream is then directed around the cartridge filters and down toward the hopper where the heavier particles discharge to the dust exit port. The contaminated air is next passed through the cartridge filters. The filter media strips the dust from the airstream allowing only clean air to pass through the cartridge filter. Finally the air is passed into the clean air plenum, through a blower package and is discharged from the unit.

Filter Cleaning Cycle

  • Pulse jet cleaning system.
  • The filter cartridges housed within this unit are cleaned via compressed air reverse jet cleaning. 
  • The compressed air is stored in the header tank and cleaning is controlled by the pulse jet controller. 
  • All WMF Titan cartridge collectors are equipped with Autel pulse jet cleaning systems as standard. 
  • Program your pulse jet controller to suit your needs, see the manual included. 
  • Standard settings for pulse jet controls are as follows, pulse time is 160 milliseconds & pause time is 20 seconds.
