Description

ScandDust is a family of dust collectors designed to separate dry dust, powder and smoke in different industrial applications.

The SDM ScandDust is a compact, pulse jet cleaned cartridge filter for small and medium sized airflows and it can in most cases operate continuously. The collector is provided with a hinged service door on the side for easy service and inspection.

ScandDust meets the requirements from valid CE regulations.

Cleaning Control System The cleaning control system consists of an electronic sequencer with an advanced microprocessor and an internal differential pressure sensor for automatic control of the diaphragm valves and the cleaning of the filter cartridges. The unit has been tested and is in conformity with the European CE regulations EMC89/336, 73/23 and 93/68EEC. The internal differential pressure sensor registers the progress of the pressure drop over the filter. When it exceeds the set value the cleaning sequence is started automatically. The following functions are available. • Automatic and manual operation • Pulse and Cycle times • Set Delta P • Set Delta P alarm • Automatic shut down cleaning at fan stop • Pre-coating at starting up a new filter. An LCD display indicates all the different preset values, time of operation, differential pressure drop during operation etc.

ScandDust SDM is a modular designed dust collector with rectangular filter housing. The smallest module has four filter cartridges and the largest module has 12 filter cartridges. SDM is always connected to an external fan.

Features

  • Roof mounted centrifugal 11 kW fan / 15 Hp.
  • Complete with an electronic, cleaning control system.
  • The cleaning system consists of a compressed air tank, solenoid valves and blow pipes for the distribution of the compressed air pulses to the filter cartridges.
  • A dust collection bucket.
  • Manufactured as standard out of galvanized sheet metal and painted.
  • For larger airflow, multiple modules can be connected in parallel.
  • Substantial Hepa Filters fitted to the clean air exit ducting.

Importance of Dust Extractors

Dust in the workplace can affect product quality and employee´s health. Having a dust-free environment is essential to the health and safety of the workforce. Not only does it affect the health of employees but the dust covers the equipment affecting production processes and quality of the products.

Capturing the dust at the source prevents it from spreading, done by using a dust extractor system to facilitate the important housekeeping to avoid it from accumulating.

How do Dust Extractors Work?

Dust collection systems work in a variety of different ways but all have general principles in common. They draw process dust and particulates from the air through a filter that first captures and separates the matter, and then discharges decontaminated air back into the workplace or environment.

Dust extractors are used in many different and varied industries and so different demands are made of them; however all have common components such as a blower (or fan), dust filter, filter cleaning system, dust container and dust removal system.

Five common types of dust collection equipment are fabric filter baghouses, inertial separators (like mechanical cyclones), cartridge collectors, wet scrubbers, and electrostatic precipitators.
