Initial Requirements

When starting up, AVS-SYS brought equipment from Riley Surface World including a high specification Caltherm Oven to complete their composite manufacturing and repair facility.

A few years later they approached us looking the sell the equipment via our direct from site services, a service we offer to make the most return investment on unwanted machinery. Selling a large volume of their machines, we advertised the equipment as a Direct from Site Event allowing interested buyers to visit the location and see the machines functioning.

As one of the highlight machines of the lot, the Caltherm oven posed plenty of interest as the brand has a good reputation for high-quality industrial ovens. Sort after by the aerospace and motor industry, the design of these ovens lends themselves perfectly to the specifications for composite production.

Unexpecting Circumstances

During the direct from site sale, AVS went into liquidation resulting in us changing our sale strategy to help AVS maximise value of their assets and business.

Solution

Firstly, offering the business as a whole package for an individual/business to take over, we did gather some interest. Finding a potential buyer who unfortunately fell through.

Following this we offered to sell the assets from the location of our warehouse, freeing up the premises for the landlord. This proved successful as we were able to sell the machinery and mitigate complications of the liquidation.

Where is the Machinery Now?

As one of the feature machines available, the Caltherm curing oven was sold to a UK based aerospace company for the purpose of repairing composites for satellites.

This success was particularly rewarding as the oven was made for the high-quality production of composites for the industry, giving us much satisfaction that its new owner would use it to its full capability.
