Description

Penetrant Application/Drain/Contact and combined Wash Station

 Application

This booth can be used for the application of fluorescent dye penetrant and the subsequent penetrant drain and contact time. When the penetrant contact time has expired, parts that have been processed using water washable penetrant are post washed in this booth. In the case of post emulsifiable penetrant, it will be the pre wash.

Features

  • The booth comprises galvanised steel sheet panels with a galvanised grid floor over a stainless steel drain tray.
  • The booth is 2400mm wide internally, and 2200mm from front to back. The internal height is 2650mm from the grid floor to the underside of the ceiling.
  • The rear wall of the booth comprises full width and height extraction slots, through which the fan will draw the airflow through the demisting filter media into the plenum chamber and a 650mm diameter axial fan mounted on the top of the booth.
  • Two pairs of ceiling mounted strip lights with both white and UV-A tubes are provided inside the booth to enable checking for full penetrant coverage of the surfaces to be tested. Separate pull cord switches are provided for white and UV lights.
  • The booth is equipped with one manual liquid penetrant application gun (Spray SA model ML3) complete with, hoses, penetrant pressure pot and delivery system.
  • The penetrant application gun is interlocked with the extraction system and will not operate unless the extraction system is running.
  • A separate freestanding trolley mounted penetrant application system comprises a 19.5 litre capacity stainless steel penetrant pressure pot with flexible hose to hand held Gilmour delivery gun.
  • One manual air/water gun is supplied (Ardrox AE7 model) complete with hoses and isolation valves.
  • The front of the booth is fitted with full width and height heavy duty blackout curtains mounted on high level slide rail.
  • Pressure Gauges for Water, Air and blow off gun, plus temperature 

 Spray Equipment

The air/water gun is supplied from a pressure control panel mounted on the side of the booth comprising:

  • Air pressure gauge
  • Air pressure regulator
  • Calibration point for the air pressure gauge
  • Water pressure gauge
  • Calibration point for the water pressure gauge
  • Water temperature gauge
  • One manual air blow off gun is provided complete with hose and isolation valve
