Chemical pumping station consisting of 6 Serfilco pumps, 4 Diastar valves, 2 Pneumatic Actuator, 3 flow meters and various couplings and controls.

Originally set up to pump Sulphuric Acid and an Alkali solution.

Serfilco Air Diaphragm Pump

A top quality rugged and durable self-priming, double diaphragm pump supplied by Serfilco. A Lube-free and non-stalling, this pump will handle any product that pours, from clear water to highly viscous, abrasive and chemically aggressive materials. Specially designed features within  the pump enables it  to handle suspended solids and abrasives without damage to the product or the pump.
The unique pump design utilizes far fewer parts than other pumps on the market. This results in longer operating life and easier maintenance at a lower cost.
Since these pumps are driven by compressed air, there is no need for shielded electrical connections or explosion-proof motors. All models can run dry because there are no close fitting or sliding parts in the fluid section. Flow rates can be controlled to produce from zero to maximum flow simply by increasing or decreasing air flow or pressure.

Product description The DIASTAR 025 has the highest closing forces in the portfolio of pneumatically actuated diaphragm valves and is available with the fail safe to open function. The valve is thus used wherever high pipe pressures of up to 10 bar need to be controlled on both sides. Function Pneumatic diaphragm valves from GF Piping Systems are used for regulating, as well as closing, controlling and monitoring volume flows. Especially when transporting contaminated, aggressive or abrasive media, this type of valve has decisive advantages thanks to its simple function and optimized construction. PVC Ball Valve with Pneumatic Actuator A pneumatically operated  valve based on Georg Fischers  range of ball valves and the PA21 pneumatic actuator. Engineered to provide a highly reliable and versatile solution for applications which require a modular unit for specialist applications. The ball has been manufactured with a smooth finish ensuring a leak free fit whilst keeping the actuation force required to a minimum. A precisely engineered breakpoint in the stem ensures that if the worst should happen, media leaking outside the valve will be prevented. A dynamic backing seal design that ensures the ball seal remains in position and pressed against the ball always guarantees the fluid passage remains sealed tight regardless of pulsation or water hammer. Applications Ideally suited to various industry applications including life science, water treatment, food and beverage and chemical processing. Fail safe close operation NAMUR interface makes accessory mounting quick and easy.

Flow meters

  • Burket 8045 Indicats both flow rate and volume.

The electromagnetic flowmeter 8045 is made up of an electronic module including a backlit display, operating keys and a sensor consisting of PVDF or stainless steel material. It has been designed to measure a flow rate of neutral and slightly aggressive fluids with a conductivity of more than 20 µS/cm in DN06...DN400 pipes. It is equipped with a 4...20 mA output, a digital output (pulse output by default). Some versions are equipped with two relay outputs and one digital input. Two independent totalizers allow counting the flow rate. The available process connections are: - G2” connection for the version with a PVDF sensor - G2” or clamp connection for the version with a stainless steel sensor. The version with a stainless steel sensor can be used in applications with higher pressures (PN16) and higher temperatures (110°C). The version with Alloy C22 electrodes has been designed for applications with aggressive fluids (chemicals) and especially sea water applications.

Why Line Your Steel Tanks with Plastic?

Steel tanks are known for their high temperature ratings and mechanical strength, but many times, they cannot be used to contain plating solutions. Corrosive solutions attack steel, and lead to leaks and tank failure. The common alternatives to steel tanks are using plastics, both as liners and free-standing structures. The chemical properties of these materials protect the solution from contamination and the steel from corrosion.

These plastics can include flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC-P) and polypropylene (PP) which are also common alternatives to steel tanks. Despite some of their preferable properties being resistant to weather, chemical rotting, corrosion, shock & abrasion, they are not resistant to all chemical applications such as more aggressive plating mixtures. PP tanks have a high fire risk if there is an elevated temperature and electric immersion heathers while polypropylene tanks are quickly combustible and difficult to extinguish.

For a guaranteed lifetime, high quality tanks lined with plastics like Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), known for its robust properties, can greatly reduce the cost of the tanks over the years when the initial investment is made upfront.
