Description

Rodway & Taylor Effluent treatment ph correction plant and settlement Tank.

Rodway & Taylor Effluent treatment plant designed for ph correction flocculant, sludge settlement for transfer to de-watering press.

A  Settlement tank, also called Sedimentation tank or clarifier, is a component of a modern system of water supply or wastewater treatment.

A Settlement tank allows suspended particles to settle out of water or wastewater as it flows slowly through the tank, thereby providing some degree of purification

Dimensions:-

  • Main – 4600 x 1900 x 2200 mm
  • PH m/c – 1350 x 2500 x 2850 mm
  • Steps – 810 x 1100 x 2200 mm
  • Bund – 1350 x 1750 x 700 mm

Effluent Treatment Plant is a simple three-stage treatment plant

The plant is designed to treat up to 500 gallons per hour of rinse waters from Zinc Phosphating and chromating processes.

Transfer pumps are activated via float switches to the neutralization tank, where its PH is monitored by a glass bulb Ph electrode.

At a predetermined level, the solution Ph is raised by automatic dosing of a caustic based solution. This raises the Ph to the correct Ph for metal hydroxides to form, normally 8.5 Ph

When the chromating solution is discharged, the operator switches on the SO2 pump which doses the solution with a sodium hypochlorite reagent which converts the Cr6 to Cr3. This is then allowed to overflow into the neutralization tank for Ph correction.

The pH will be corrected to around 8.5 pH normally where the metal hydroxides will form and settle out with the aid of a flocculating agent (if required)
This slurry can then be removed for disposal or to filter press for dewatering.

The clear treated supernatent can then be allowed to overflow into the foul sewer
