Part of a carbon recycling process for the cooling and bagging of carbon pellets.


Hot carbon pellets of 400°C are fed into the open end of the cooler and via the Archimedes screw running the length of the unit are slowly transported along the inside of the tube. Chilled liquid such as a glycol based coolant is passed through the centre of the tube and around the outside of the tube which absorbs the heat from the pellets, thus cooling them as they pass along the unit. When the pellets reach the end of the screw they are transferred into bags via the smaller worm drive exit chute and into bags ready for dispatch.
