The Atlas Copco FX13 Refrigerant Air Dryer drying cools the compressed air, whereby a large amount of the water condenses and can be separated. The compressed air is then heated so that condensation does not form on the outside of the pipe work system.

The compressed air cooling takes place, via a closed coolant system, where a refrigerant cooling agent is employed. Atlas Copco uses environmentally friendly gasses for this. By cooling the compressed incoming air with the cooled outgoing air in the heat exchanger, the energy of the refrigerant dryer is reduced.

Why Treat Compressed Air?

Modern production systems and production processes require high-quality compressed air which is defined in 10 classes in accordance with the ISO 8573.1:2001 international standard and can only be achieved by filtration, water separation and drying.

The intake air contains moisture which condenses as it cools and turns into water. This can not only lead to severe damage in the compressed air system, but can also be detrimental to the end product.

Compressed air quality and energy efficiency

Attention is often only paid to the quality of the air and not to the resultant running costs. Atlas Copco not only delivers compressed air of the required quality, but the FX13  offers a steady pressure dew point as low as +3 °C/+37.4 °F.

Its easy to use digital display precision-measures and monitors the pressure dew point and dryer performance, providing minimal temperature glide  and compression energy use, whilst allowing for constant pressure dew point.
