Description

The RDM multi chamber batch oven allows products to be rotated through the oven with minimal disturbance to the temperature uniformity within the chamber. Ideally suited to the pre-heating, plasticising, and curing of thermoset plastics and composites. Alternative uses could include mould warming, drying, powder and paint stoving.

With its generous internal proportions up to 4 full sizes sheets can be processed in the horizontal at any one time. When used for annealing or softening plastic products of various shapes and sizes, this oven includes 1 static and 3 cantilever product shelves equally spaced in the heated chamber.

Each chamber has its own individual door with each door working in conjunction with foot switch operated pneumatic cylinder for their opening and closing.  This gives the flexibility of loading and unloading one quarter of the batch oven capacity at different times.

The product shelves extend outside of the oven half their length to allow for the easy loading and unloading of the product.

The ovens control panel incorporates a digital multi channel process timer and digital proportional temperature controller, over-temperature policeman and hours run meter (2786 hrs). The oven itself is powered by 30kW of Incoloy heaters, split evenly over two banks, allowing a low heat and high heat setting to be selected to match the load installed in the oven.

Hidden within the control system is a purge timer which clears the atmosphere within the chamber prior to allowing any heat to be applied. At the end of the process cycle, a cooling timer can also be employed to effectively drop the temperature at the end of the day.

The large 4kW air recirculation fan maintains the uniformity within the chamber and also powers the bleed off system, allowing a constant extract of fumes from the oven as and when desired. The fan itself is constantly monitored with an air proving switch which protects the products in the unlikely event of fan failure.

The general structural construction of the oven consists of a heavy duty box section steel frame, in black powder coated paint with all the internal and external panels being constructed from 18swg galvanised sheet steel with infilled RW5 100 mm glass wool insulation. The roof of the oven incorporates explosion relief panels which are designed to allow a controlled vent point in the unlikely event of an explosion from within the chamber.
