The quality and the technical know-how of a GREIF abrasive belt grinding machine guarantee the unequalled long service-life
The weight of each part of the machine proves that GREIF would never think of using cheap materials. The motor housing have sturdy cast iron bodies, which contribute essentially to the silent running and the sound proofing of the machines. The motors are equipped with cast covers and are thus better sealed against grinding dust. Due to their high torque the motors prevent a stopping of the belt also at a high pressure.
The modern motor design is distinguished by the combination of square cross sections in 2 planes and the circular arcs of various radii, overlying the edges. Thus a substantially larger surface area is achieved especially compared to that of a cylindrical motor. The consequence is an optimum heat dissipation to the surrounding air.
GREIF-motors run without any problems even after 50.000 hours of operation. Every single motor has an extremely high loading capacity and is thus surprisingly quiet. This is the result of an experience (since 1928). Rigidity and precision, which determine the work result, are simply self-evident for GREIF-motors:
The precision ground and dynamically balanced motor shafts are taken up in grooved ball bearings, which are positioned against each other as lose bearings. The result is the low noise, the long service-life and the precise rotation.
The motors are cooled inside: the air, agitated by the rotor and fan takes out the heat of the stator and emits it to the walls of the motor housing
GREIF-belt grinders are designed for high dynamic stresses generated in constant use in industry. They are highly respected for deburring and grinding of welding seams as for cleaning of castings, etc.
Abrasive belts (1530mm long ) to guarantee a sufficient grit cooling before the next operation and thus a long service-life of the belts, easy changing of the abrasive belts by a simple hand lever mounted outside the guard master protected belt guard, as well as by a telescopic quick tension-removing lever for belt exchange.
Fitted with Turbine (R 1) heads
This special belt grinding device is suitable for several purposes, for which small contact wheels are needed, as for example for the grinding of turbine blades.
Contact wheels with a dia. of 15 to 50 mm and a width of 15 to 50 mm can be mounted onto the belt tensioning arm with help of quick-change adapters. Because of the extremely high speeds the contact wheels are equipped with air cooling as well as grease points for the bearings.
Furthermore interior and exterior deburring of the tube ends is made possible by using small contact wheels and small abrasive belts.
During the grinding process: dust extraction is obligatory
The built-in extractor is rated to the dust output of the machine. The steel housing contains filter tubes made of a fireproof material, a fan with motor drive as well as a waste dust collection box.
The extractor is driven by a, 0,75 kW motor at 2880 rpm. With clean filter tubes the performance measured at the filter entrance is 115 mm WS and 9 cbm/min.
