Microsolve Co-Solvent Vapour Ultrasonic Degreasing Systems
Guyson’s Kerry Microsolve cleaning systems attain the highest cleaning standards yet keep running costs low.
THE CO-SOLVENT PROCESS
Guyson Co-Solvent systems provide two ultrasonic cleaning stages, both with filtration, followed by vapour rinsing and freeboard dry.
In Stage 1 In the first cleaning tank a mixture of HFE (hydrofluoroether) and a hydrocarbon solvating agent removes gross contamination from the components. Large quantities of dirt and oils can be taken up by the solvating agent, and this makes the process particularly suitable for heavy duty cleaning.
Cleaning with or without the use of ultrasonics is carried out in the stage one tank by immersion of the components into the Co-Solvent mixture, usually comprising of a HFE (hydrofluoroether) and petroleum distillate based solvating agent.
In Stage 2 pure HFE distillate removes from the components residues carried over from the primary cleaning tank.
Immersion into stage two's tank of pure HFE distillate, removes any residues from the components, carried over from stage one's cleaning tank.
In stage 3 Cleaning is followed by a final rinse in the vapour zone located above both tanks comprising of the pure distilled solvent.
In stage 4 Drying then takes place with the components located in the freeboard area where the solvent evaporates mostly back onto the refrigerated cooling coils situated above and around the process tanks.
Both cleaning tanks include base mounted ultrasonic transducers with Pulsatron generator, solution heating and a pumping and filtration system.
Typical Cleaning Applications
The Co-solvent process handles with ease cleaning applications such as removal of polishing compounds, maintenance cleaning of power generation system components, and flux removal from PCBs, including no-clean and lead-free solder flux residues.
Solvent retention features unique to the Microsolve range:
triple coil reflux cooling, vapour break, 150% freeboard, optional auto top-up and solvent monitoring–ensure that systems are safe and comply fully with environmental and safety legislation.
These design features also mean that Microsolve systems are able to operate with low, predictable solvent usage and customers enjoy low, predictable running costs.
The Kerry Microsolve Co-Solvent vapour degreasing system manufactured by Guyson has four process stages comprising of ultrasonic cleaning, ultrasonic rinse, followed by vapour rinsing and freeboard drying.
The Microsolve has proven unique solvent retention features that provide economic benefits as well as effective use of HFE (hydrofluoroether) or HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) solvents.
