The effluent plant treats the waste water, adds flock & raises the pH; the treated effluent is then consolidated. The solid waste passed through a filter press being disposed of as cake whilst the treated water passes through a sand filter before being discharged to mains sewer via a Vee Notch discharge tank to meet tight discharge limits.
